Migrations

DOORS 9 to DOORS Next

A move from DOORS 9 to DOORS Next must keep every requirement, link, and baseline intact. We use our own scripts and checks, in addition to IBM’s migration tools, to find and fix problems before they reach DOORS Next.

We do more than copy data. First, we analyze your DOORS 9 data structures. Then we restructure them for DOORS Next. This reduces technical debt and makes the new database easier to maintain.

How we migrate

  • Our own tools: scripts and utilities for cases that the standard tools do not handle.
  • Data validation: automated checks that attributes, links, and attached files arrived.
  • Phased migration: teams keep working while their data moves.
  • Training: your team learns DOORS Next before the switch.
  • ClearCase and ClearQuest to EWM: source code and change records moved into Engineering Workflow Management.

DOORS Classic to DOORS Next and ETM

In a DOORS Classic migration, the requirements are the easy part. The risk is in everything attached to them: links, baselines, history, and attribute schemas. If these do not arrive intact, your traceability fails at the first audit. We have migrated DXL-scripted modules, custom attribute sets, and cross-module links into DOORS Next with their history intact.

The same applies when test assets move from DOORS Classic to Engineering Test Management (ETM). Test cases, test scripts, and their links to requirements must all arrive. We measure traceability coverage before and after each migration, so you have proof that nothing was lost.
