Test management

Test plans linked to the requirements they verify
IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM) puts testing at the center of the engineering lifecycle. We connect it to your requirements and your build pipeline.
Each requirement links to the tests that verify it, and each defect is tracked. This is the evidence that certification requires.
Testing strategies
- Test planning: test plans and suites.
- Automation: manual and automated tests in one place.
- Traceability: tests linked to requirements and builds.
Certification evidence, not just test results
We derive test cases from the requirements in DOORS Next, so coverage is a report you can give an auditor. Under DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 62304, and similar standards, the link between a requirement and its test record is the evidence itself.
Hardware needs test plans too. We have set up ETM to run tests on physical hardware, such as test benches and hardware-in-the-loop rigs. Hardware results then go into the same traceable record as your software tests.
