Requirements management

DOORS Next, set up for how your team works

IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next holds the requirements that a systems engineering program depends on. We help you move from spreadsheets and documents to one linked source.

We define the data model, link types, and traceability rules, so your project stays ready for audit.

Our expertise

  • DOORS Next architecture: module and component design that scales.
  • Attributes and link types: a schema for your standards.
  • Reporting: current project status from live data.

Bridging DOORS Next and Jira with OSLC

In many organizations, systems engineers work in DOORS Next and software teams work in Jira. Neither side wants to change tools. We connect the two with an OSLC connector. We have set up several of these connectors, and each one creates live links between requirements, work items, and tests. There is no copy of the data to synchronize: each side sees the current state of the other.

A software engineer can see the requirement behind a Jira issue without opening DOORS Next. A systems engineer can see current Jira status during impact analysis without leaving the module.
